The Morcombes are pushing for a State Government commitment to a public sex offender register, ahead of Friday’s Day for Daniel.

The LNP has promised to change the laws if elected this weekend, while the Labor party says expert advice does not support it.

“We just do not understand why there is such a slow movement forward in this particular subject… if you had a daughter or you had a mother that was perhaps attracting a boarder to stay in their property or a childminder, you just need the ability to do a simple check instantly and assess whether that person has a criminal record of a heinous crime against a child.” – Bruce Morcombe.
